Job Title: Packaging Technologist – Cosmetics & SkincareSalary: £40k - £50k basic + benefitsLocation: South West EnglandReference: J3117Contact: Telephone: 0141 647 6688Categories: , , , We are on the search for a packaging technologist with strong technical knowledge combined with commercial acumen to join a leading cosmetics and skin care products company.Candidates must have a good knowledge of component manufacture and decoration. With a proven record in packaging technology, you must have a strong understanding of materials and applicationsSupporting the brand by developing packaging from a technically commercial perspective whist holding the sustainability ethos at the core of any development, your responsibilities will include:Supporting the packaging technician with component testingSource of packaging with commercial and sustainable awareness and assess through feasibility process with production team(s)Work cross functionally through the business and manage packaging expectations where necessaryAttendance of print passes and first production runs as required to support the businessLiaise with the quality team to fully investigate issues and complaints, setting standards and technical input to non conformance process as requiredResponsible for project management of key business initiatives from a packaging technical and commercial aspectDeliver cost saving and cost avoidance strategies to support the Buying and production teamsCo-ordination of line trials and PR runs in line with the CPAArtwork briefs and artwork approvalsCreation of component and packing specificationsAwareness of costs and budgets and advise the Senior Packaging Manager of costs outside of budgetClear, concise communication on project status updatesAbility to assess challenges and identify solutionsCommunicate effectively to all areas of the business and feed into commercial paperwork for business sign offAwareness of innovation and working with the sustainability team to deliver business initiativesWork with the team on continuous improvements with ways of working, processes and documentationSupplying packaging waste informationAbility to provide technical expertise to the businessAttend supplier meetings and support the Buying team from a technical perspectiveIf you are an excellent team player with ability to work under own initiative and prioritise effectively then we would like to hear from you.Share this job:
