Our Organisation

The Football Association [The FA] is the not-for-profit governing body of football in England. It is responsible for promoting and developing every level of the game, from grassroots through to the professional game, and generates significant revenue to support investment into English football each year.

The FA oversees England international teams across men's, women's, youth and disability football, as well as running the National League System and FA Competitions including the Emirates FA Cup, Barclays FA Women's Super League, FA Women's Championship, and Vitality Women's FA Cup, and the world-class facilities of Wembley Stadium and St. George's Park, all with a purpose to Unite the Game and Inspire the Nation.

The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Partnerships Manager to join our Commercial team on a fixed term basis. You will be responsible for the management of key accounts across The FA partnership programme. Delivering results for partners aligned to partnership objectives.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead and be responsible for the account management and rights delivery for partners of The FA.
  • Build strong relationships with partners and internal FA departments (i.e. Marketing, Comms, Sales, Participation) to ensure efficient and effective lines of communication.
  • Be a trusted advisor to those partners working across and add value to partner activations.
  • Responsible for the season planning, organisation and delivery of a variety of partner related events and activity.
  • Ensure partnership activations are measured affectively and align with partnership objectives.
  • Support the Senior Partnerships Manager and/or Head of Commercial Partnerships in partnership renewals planning / negotiation.
  • Develop proposals and presentations for partners with support from the Senior Partnerships Manager.
  • Match day delivery and client management across FA events.
  • Support the on-boarding of new partners across The FA's partnership portfolio (where will manage the partner).
  • Work closely with FA departments to find and deliver added value for partners.

What we are looking for

Essential

  • Experience of account management and partnership rights delivery.
  • Ability to manage partner requests to ensure continued health of the partnership.
  • Experience in Partnerships / Account Management or Sports Marketing.
  • Demonstrable experience building excellent working relationships and dealing with senior stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • Experienced in developing and delivering against key partnership KPIs.
  • Excellent organisational skills, ability to seek solutions and create opportunities.
  • Demonstrable ability to work and deliver under pressure.
  • Experience of developing and coaching junior team members.
  • Results driven with good commercial acumen.
  • Excellent planning, prioritisation and time management skills.
  • Experience in commercial contracts involving rights negotiation and delivery.
  • Experience of working in a partnership focused role.

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a commercial role in the sports industry or sports marketing agency.
  • Experience in or knowledge of grassroots sport and participation programmes.
  • Experience in developing and delivering campaign strategy for Blue Chip clients.
  • Strong presentation and reporting skills.

Please be aware that unless you are on a homebased contract, your contract with The FA will specify a fixed location of either Wembley Stadium, St. George's Park or our Processing Centre.

We currently work within a hybrid working model whereby the expectation is to work from your contractual location for part of the week, and as and when required by the team. The remaining days can be worked remotely. We will continue to monitor this model and it may be adjusted in future if deemed necessary.
