Job Description

Our client is one of the UK's fastest-growing passive fire protection companies. They provide fire door, fire barrier and structural steel protection services to a wide range of clients including some of the best-known hospitals, universities, and construction firms in the country.

We are currently looking for a motivated person with technical expertise to join our team.

Role Description

We are looking for a Technical Advisor to work full time at our office in Essex and on sites within the Greater London area. The working hours are between 8am and 5pm Monday - Friday and reporting to the Technical Manager.

Responsibilites

* Carrying out quality assurance checks on fire compartmentation installations in line with internal company procedure to ensure installations are taking place in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and certification body and industry guidelines. Assessing technical competence of installers, identifying, overseeing, and signing off improvement processes.

* Delivering training and onsite technical briefings to installation teams to enhance their knowledge and keep them abreast of current and newly developed solutions and guidance.

* Carrying out site audits prior to projects' commencements to advise on products and solutions that are suitable for the site and client requirements.

* Handle external certifying body's (Firas) compliance processes and audits.

* Providing operations teams technical information including specific installation details and general best practice advice, under the guidance of the Technical Manager. Assisting the technical manager in production of passive fire protection project specific designs by selecting suitable products to achieve the performance requirements.

Experience

* Previous experience in passive fire protection is essential; applicants who have worked in installation (supervision), manufacturing, and compliance/auditing fields will all be considered.

* Solid working knowledge of fire stopping and structural steel fire protection systems with corresponding relevant qualification (e.g. IFE Level 2 in PFP) are required.

* Experience using electronic recording software (e.g. Bolster, One Trace) and good computer literacy, in Word, Excel, Outlook, are desirable; training in bespoke systems will be provided where necessary.

* The successful candidate will need the ability to read and understand engineering drawings and floor plans
