The Role
We are seeking a Strategy Manager to join the Payments Strategy Team. You will help craft and drive strategy development across the Payments, Risk and Protections organization, in support of customer and business needs, and priorities of eBay's markets and regions. You will form hypotheses, structuring and conducting/overseeing analysis and articulating strategic options and plans for the Payments business. You will work with a wide variety of cross domains including business leaders, product teams, finance and other key partners across the organization, to help translate customer and business needs into innovative strategies, actionable plans and ultimately value-added payment solutions. You will also drive market and consumer research to identify unmet payments needs and trends and support proactive formulation of strategies in response to these developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand customer needs and how these differ across segments and markets.
- Analyse and distill customer, business and market data into actionable insights, to drive business strategies and product roadmap.
- Lead strategic payments projects that require medium to long-term viewpoints, cross-functional coordination and specific market considerations.
- Be point person for solving complex strategic and analytic challenges that face Payments and build frameworks and models to support grounded recommendations.
- Use data and expertise to build compelling business cases and narratives that communicate ideas and opportunities, to gain buy-in and build alignment, with both internal and external partners.
- Project management and delivery: Be the business lead, ensuring that strategy execution is consistent with original intent and manage change controls.
- Strategic planning: Support the development of the Payment organization's 3-year plan in terms of payment market approaches, products, experiences, and capabilities.
- Manage and conduct analysis of partner capabilities, joint offering, pricing and terms, both in response to specific business needs and proactively find opportunities for future optimization
- Provide broad expertise in payments economics, offerings, and propositions across markets for solution teams, product teams and other partners.

Preferred Qualifications
- Related work experience - financial services / business strategy / consulting / or related experience
- Portion of the above experience applied within e-commerce, payments and/or fintech industry
- BS/BA and Master Degree preferred from top tier academic institutions
