Job Title: Payroll Manager Hours: 37.5 hours per week, all year round Monday – Friday 08:30 hours to 16:30 hours (30 minutes unpaid for lunch) Salary: Band G from point 37 to point 41 (£40,548 to £45,408) per year Responsible to Head of Finance, with dotted reporting to Head of HR Main Purpose of Job: To be responsible for all payrolls operated by the School (currently using WCBS Payroll Plus software) Main Responsibilities: To oversee all payrolls of the School and work closely with the Payroll Assistant to ensure all staff members are paid correctly and on time and that staff receive notification of their pay via pay slips by the last working day of the month. To manage the day to day responsibility and tasks of our Payroll Assistant. To ensure that the payroll database holds accurate and up to date data, including pay rates, personal details, PAYE/NI and other statutory body details, pension and other payroll related details. To ensure that BACS payments are properly authorised and ready for submission to staff bank accounts by the due date. To work with the Head of Finance to ensure the three payrolls are fully reconciled to the Nominal Ledger payroll control accounts on a monthly and annual basis. To answer queries relating to payroll when necessary from all staff members, line managers and external bodies such as HMRC, Teachers Pensions and Defined Contribution Pension Schemes.
