Pensions Project Analyst (Public Sector)

XPS are looking to recruit a Pensions Project Analysts to join our Administration Project Team (APT). This role requires significant experience in a similar position or within a pure pensions administration team focussing on the public sector. Our roles can be based remotely or with hybrid office working depending on individual circumstances.

The XPS Admin Project Team (APT) is a separate, highly experienced, and specialised project resource comprised of circa 85 staff. APT have vast experience of working on numerous projects from data cleansing and benefit rectification to buy outs and wind ups. The team undertake project work from across XPS ensuring that day to day Administration work and resource is unaffected.

Our APT team undertakes projects such as:

  • GMP rectification/equalisation
  • Buy-in/ Buy-out
  • Data Cleansing
  • Ad hoc projects for example scheme closures, benefit rectifications, liability reduction exercises
  • McCloud implementation: Public sector pension benefit rectification across police, fire, MOJ and LGPS pension schemes.
  • Pension Dashboards

The role:

  • Supporting Senior Project Analysts and Project Consultants to undertake project work; ensuring delivery in line with project deadlines and client expectations.
  • Updating relevant pension administration databases and systems
  • Performing basic calculations
  • Running automated systems extracts.
  • Data Manipulation
  • Reviewing Member Records
  • Working closely with other departments/teams to ensure project delivery
  • Ensuring the accurate updating of time recording system for both chargeable and non- chargeable activities and meeting required utilisation target
  • Due to the changing nature of the business, the job holder may from time to time be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within their capabilities.

Your profile:

  • Significant experience in a similar role or within pensions administration focussing on the public sector is essential.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work in advance of deadlines and prioritising multiple tasks.
  • Able to see projects/tasks through to completion within given timescales.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Able to follow instructions, procedures, policies and assimilate information quickly in a consistent manner.
  • Able to take ownership and responsibility for own work.
  • Enthusiastic, positive and flexible approach to work.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is required to perform the duties - both numerical and written.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • An active listener and able to follow through on instructions given.
  • Able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team.
  • Good Problem-Solving Skills.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Previous Pensions experience would be beneficial
