Wood is looking for a driven individual as a People & Organisation Advisor for the UK business within the Compliance Team reporting to the P&O Manager. Compliance for HR Teams is the process of operationalising, creating policies and procedures that ensure the business is fully aligned and working within the requirements of up to date employment and labour laws. The Advisor will work as part of the Compliance team to ensure that these are followed and help to develop and educate the HR Teams in order to establish strong internal knowledge and minimise risk & potential litigation against the business. As a member of an agile team support is provided to Compliance Teams spanning 44 countries across the eastern hemisphere/multiple time zones therefore any international HR knowledge would be advantageous.
The Advisor will join the Compliance Team (within P&O Professional Services) and be responsible for the provision of the following services to the business:

  • Supporting the creation and management of P&O policies and procedures across the Eastern hemisphere including monitoring of changes in regulatory landscape to ensure compliance with up-to-date government updates.
  • Supporting the Management of all UK Immigration requirements - Sponsorship Certification Management of Government System working with external immigration specialists.
  • Support the Case management of employee relations cases that have evaluated to employment litigation / arbitration / ACAS/Tribunals
  • DSAR responses for UK and applicable European Countries where local provisions are not implemented.
  • P&O Team development - responsible for designing and delivering legal updates/outcomes from Wood case, sharing lessons learnt and employment case updates.
  • The role will work in partnership with Group E&C and be involved in P&O related Ethics Investigations across the Eastern hemisphere
  • They will also support on all internal P&O audit requirements in line with government targets and employment legislation/country labour laws

Skills / Qualifications
  • Degree qualified plus HR related or Business management qualification - preferred.
  • CIPD Qualified or working towards - essential

Knowledge, skills, and experience:
  • Knowledge of people practices and applicable legislative frameworks
  • A commitment to continuous learning and development
  • Proven record of delivering multiple projects simultaneously and autonomously with limited additional management support required.
  • Previous experience in the creation of P&O/HR/ Contracts, Policies and Procedures to support the business aligned to local labour laws.
  • Evidence of established and achieved challenging performance targets, high volume & fast paced workloads.
  • Up to date knowledge of and previous experience of working within the UK Government Immigration systems and processes for compliance with Sponsorship licensing and Right to Work checks and audits.
  • Demonstrable previous experience of managing DSAR requests.
  • Ability to advise, partner and work with stakeholders confidently at all levels across the business
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft office suite of applications
