Permanent Veterinary Surgeon - Peacehaven, East Sussex

  • Are you a qualified and RCVS registered veterinary surgeon or soon to be?
  • Do you want to move into an independent practice?
  • Are you looking for a role with no OOH?

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Peacehaven, East Sussex for a Permanent Veterinary Surgeon to join their team.

This role is part time for 2 or 2.5 days per week, along with 1 in 4 Saturdays from 8am to 4pm. There will be no OOH work or on-call duties.

This is an established first opinion small animal clinic offering a range of modern veterinary services and facilities.

An enthusiastic, caring veterinary surgeon who has good communication skills, willingness to develop both clinical and non-clinical skills to enable delivery of superb patient care and the ability to effectively communicate with both colleagues and clients,

  • Type: Small animal
  • Hours: Part time, 2 to 2.5 days per week
  • OOH: None
  • Sole charge: None
  • Team: 4 vets, 6 RVNs, 1 SVN and support team
  • Consultations: 15 minutes

About you:

  • You will be competent in routine surgeries
  • You will always deliver a high standard of clinical care
  • You will have excellent customer facing skills
  • You will work well within the team alongside other veterinary specialists and clinicians
  • You will be a passionate and motivated veterinary surgeon with a genuine interest for animal welfare
  • For experienced vets you will offer mentoring and coaching where required and share best practice
  • You will be ambitious to develop your clinical skill set and knowledge
  • You will enjoy working within a busy practice with a wide variety of cases

Facilities:

The practice offers a wide range of modern veterinary services and facilities, including:

  • Digital X-ray
  • Nurse clinics
  • In-house laboratory
  • Separate cat and dog wards

Package:

  • Salary: Up to £60,000 pro rata, commensurate to experience
  • Holidays: 6.6 weeks annual leave, including bank holidays
  • Memberships: RCVS and VDS fees paid, plus 2 others

Must haves:

  • RCVS registered and qualified or soon to be
