GiveOut is an award-winning international LGBTQI community foundation. We enable our community to give in one place to support LGBTQI human rights activism worldwide. We are seeking a Philanthropy Officer to lead on our individual fundraising work, build our community of supporters and raise mid-level and major gifts.
Leave: 25 days paid annual leave pro rata (rising by 1 additional day for each year of service up to 28 days) plus 1 day around your birthday and days over the Christmas week
Hours: Full-time role
Location: Central London (the team is currently working remotely)
Reports to: Executive Director
Works with: Development & Partnerships Officer, Grant-making Officer, Communications and Events Coordinator

GiveOut is an award-winning international LGBTQI community foundation enabling our community and corporate allies to give in one place to support lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, and intersex (LGBTQI) human rights activism worldwide.
Across the world, LGBTQI people face appalling human rights abuses for being themselves. Courageous activists are doing vital work to improve the lives of LGBTQI people, but they lack resources and funding is fragile, especially in the Global South and East. The LGBTQI community and allies want to provide support, but it is not always easy to do so. GiveOut’s purpose is to help address this urgent need by providing a platform for them to give tax efficiently in one place to fund LGBTQI human rights activism worldwide. We pool the donations we receive to provide grants to LGBTQI organisations globally, ensuring they have more of the resources they need to defend our communities, tackle inequality and campaign for lasting change.
GiveOut is building a community of individual donors, giving in solidarity to support LGBTQI human rights globally. Our 100 Circle of supporters give at the level of £100+/month or the annual equivalent, providing long term support to the LGBTQI movement. Our Angel supporters give at the level of £5,000+/year. Several individuals have worked with us to establish their own Named Funds for their family or business, and have made significant multi-year commitments.
The Philanthropy Officer – Individuals will be a vital member of GiveOut’s small team, leading on shaping and implementing GiveOut’s individual fundraising strategy. The role works closely with and reports to the Executive Director. The Philanthropy Officer will bring new ideas and fundraising experience to GiveOut, while having the opportunity to develop skills around supporter engagement, learn about LGBTQI human rights activism around the world, and play a key role in helping to build this young international charity.
