Junior Planning Lawyer
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Planning Lawyer with circa 1-5 years PQE to join a leading UK law firm.
The successful candidate can be based in Birmingham, Manchester, or Leeds and will be working as part of the Development Planning sub-team within the firm’s leading Planning & Environment team.
About the Team
Join the largest dedicated planning team in the UK, comprising 75 lawyers engaged in a variety of major projects across the Energy, Infrastructure, and Real Estate sectors. The team includes experts who primarily focus on the Real Estate sector as well as those specializing in Energy and Infrastructure. We are seeking a candidate with relevant experience who is keen to work predominantly in the Real Estate sector alongside our specialized lawyers.
The team advises on leading projects for a diverse range of public and private sector clients. The portfolio of work includes major urban regeneration schemes, tall buildings, estate regeneration, residential, commercial and sport developments, Garden Settlements, and over-station developments.
Candidate Requirements
1-5 years’ PQE
Admitted and qualified in England & Wales
Experience in Town and Country Planning Act 1990 matters is essential
Proficient in compulsory acquisition/purchase and compensation matters, EIA/HRA, inquiries, and judicial review.
The ideal candidate will have experience with a large regional or national practice, complemented by a strong academic background and an outgoing personality. Technical excellence is a must, but equally important are commercial awareness and a demonstrated enthusiasm for business development. A proven track record in this area is essential. The successful candidate will be a team player with a strong client-focused approach.
