Allen Lane are supporting a Local Authority in the Essex area to fill their vacancy for a Locum Planning Lawyer. Looking for an experienced, qualified solicitor in Planning, working in Local Authorities, who can hit the ground running.
Responsibilities:
- Delivering top-notch Legal Services to the Council and external clients concerning planning law and related areas, while meeting professional standards agreed upon by the service.
- Handling a workload focused on planning law matters while also having a broad understanding of other legal work undertaken by the District Council.
- Offering innovative solutions to support any council service changes and fulfill officer requirements effectively.
- Providing timely guidance on various complex legal issues.
- Safeguarding the interests of the service within the council as a whole.
- Advising and assisting elected members appropriately.
- Collaborating within the Legal and Democratic Services team, offering support and advice as necessary.
Qualifications
- Admitted qualified solicitor or barrister with an understanding of local government;
- Degree in law or equivalent degree and first time pass in Common Professional Examination (CPE) or Graduate Diploma (GDL) (Law conversions).
- A current practising certificate or eligibility for a current practising certificate.
This is a 6-month contract, paying £55/hr inside iR35.
