Appointment Summary

What a role - offering the opportunity to join our highly regarded client that is very much rooted in the UK legal sector with international networks. A diverse and impactful appointment, this Planning Lawyer role will undertake client work that shapes communities through legal advocacy and strategic problem-solving. Undertaking elements of contentious and non-contentious planning work, you will join an established team of highly ranked (Chambers) Planning professionals. Given the structure of our clients team, this appointment can be based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh (Hybrid working) however could also be open to Aberdeen for the right professional.


Role Overview

Offer expert counsel on complex planning matters such as appeals, public inquiries, compensation claims, legal challenges, and enforcement actions. Provide strategic guidance to clients with well-researched opinions, draft planning obligations, and negotiate legal agreements. Efficiently manage caseloads to meet client and firm goals, actively engage in financial oversight, collaborate with colleagues on knowledge sharing and training, and stay updated on relevant case law and legislative changes in the planning field.
