Our client is a global law firm who are seeking to recruit a Planning Solicitor with 1-5 years’ PQE to join them as an Associate in their Edinburgh office.
This role will offer you the opportunity to work with some of the UK’s leading planning solicitors on complex and prestigious infrastructure and real estate development projects both nationally and globally. Our client has an impressive client base which includes some of the largest developers, as well as landowners and public sector bodies.
As part of this team you will enjoy a variety of work including drafting and negotiating on planning obligations and infrastructure agreements, advising on environmental impact and appropriate assessments, offering strategic planning advice, implementing compulsory purchase powers and advising on compensation, promoting compulsory purchase orders, Transport and Works Act Orders and other orders, and supporting advocates and counsel in legal proceedings and inquiries. You will also be expected to draft articles and briefings, as well as have an active participation in the business development and marketing activities of the team.
To be considered for this role you will need to have gained 1-5 years’ post-qualification experience as a planning solicitor within Scotland. You will need to have gained technical planning knowledge as well as the ability to maintain strong client relationships, building and developing your own network of internal and external contacts.
