Job Description
Scotsdales are seeking a Plant Area Manager to join their Horningsea team.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic plants person to mange both our indoor and outdoor plants offering at the Horningsea Centre. The successful candidate will have a set day off each week, working every other weekend.
Responsibilities will include:
- Buy every day stock for both the indoor and outdoor plant areas
- Ensure the highest retailing standards across the department, i.e. product is priced, well presented, neatly displayed
- Provide the best possible customer service
- Manage a small team of general assistants
- Manage wastage within appropriate levels
- React appropriately to weather events, i.e. frost / heatwave
- Carryout and oversee general department maintenance, including weeding, pruning, watering etc.
- Have overall responsibility for the plants in your department
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with colleagues
- Be an ambassador for Scotsdales values
Requirements of the Role:
- Must be able to follow instructions and able to work in greenhouses and outdoors in all weathers
- Work well under pressure
- Professionalism and reliability
- Good time management
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic with a drive to succeed
