Key Objectives of the Role

Direct responsibility for the High Wycombe plant and facilities, delivering highest operational standards, hygiene, fabrication, aesthetics, engineering & maintenance. Develop and maintain a continuous improvement culture, driving operational efficiencies, identify and implement improvements to working practices to improve efficiency, performance and reliability. Ensure all products are manufactured to the required product safety and

quality standards, safely and on time.


With a direct and matrix team manage all day to day matters relating to the plant and facilities (production, warehouse, engineering, sample bay and health and safety). Take lead responsibility for the safety and welfare of all employees. Maintain the highest standards in the plant and facilities for High Wycombe.


Production

Ensure all products are manufactured to the required product safety and quality standards, safely and on time.

Ensure all factory operatives are thoroughly trained to ensure competence in compounding, blending, drying and warehouse operations, product safety and Quality Assurance procedures.

Ensure that all procedures, tasks etc. are always carried out safely.

Ensure factories (production and warehouse) are kept immaculate.

Ensure all plant is maintained and safe for purpose.

  • Deliver production schedules in line with the capacity and Working Capital constraints.
  • Ensure that all procedures are carried out safely in compliance with company Health and Safety policies.
  • Ensure that the Quality Assurance procedures are strictly adhered to, and that a culture of “quality first” pervades production.


Liaise with Technical and Quality Control on any technical issues concerning finished products.

Member of the HACCP team as the Production/Engineering representative.

Lead and develop the process engineering function.

Lead and develop the sample by function.


Warehouse

Constantly review warehousing and supply requirements to provide best fit model.

Maximise efficiencies locally in UK.


Health & Safety

Working with the HSE Manager to ensure compliance with the HSE and that the Company Health & Safety policy is adhered to and that the business culture is designed to minimise risk to the lowest achievable level.

Ensure full compliance with HSE regulations.

Drive the H&S culture change.

Carry out all operations safely and without risk to any staff member, contractor or visitor, observing company and departmental safety rules at all times.


Plant & Facilities

Manage the smooth running of the company facilities.

Manage the engineering function.

Ensure building is structurally and aesthetically sound and safe for purpose.

Ensure building and contents are secure at all times.

  • Ensure premises are kept clean and cleaners adequately trained.
  • Ensure the UK facilities comply with legislation.
  • Support 5-year plan for plant & facilities driven by the business strategy including capital projects necessary to deliver.
  • Develop & deliver the Engineering strategy.


General

  • Oversee development and coaching of team members, developing individual objectives for direct reports ensuring alignment to business plans.
  • Manage key infrastructure projects.
  • Oversee the development and execution of capital expenditure projects.
  • Recruit, train and develop your staff, and to manage their performance through the company appraisal process.
  • Maintain KPIs and raise necessary corrective actions
