KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
We are looking for Scientists with a specialism in at least one of:
- Plant Breeding: Experience in designing, maintaining/managing/collecting data for field trials
- Crop Science: Experience in generating transgenic crops (non-model, such as potato, spinach, etc) using tissue culture
- Systems Biology/Synthetic Biology: Metabolic engineering, designing gene circuits, pathway analysis in plants (or algae).
Candidates at various experience levels are encouraged to apply; from fresh PhD graduates, through to those at more of a 'mid' or 'senior' level with post-doc experience (could be in academia or industry).

Sitting in the Agri-meets-Biotech and Alternative Proteins world, this start-up is on a mission to create new and sustainable ingredients using purely plant based sources.
Their technology has made waves in investment and research circles, resulting in the business successfully securing multiple grant-funded projects.
They are therefore looking to bolster their R&D team with potentially multiple hires, and are looking for Scientists with expertise in the likes of Plant Breeding, Crop Science (and transformation of non-model crops), and Systems & Synthetic Biology. Experience in number of these areas would be great, but if you specialise in just one of these then we'd like to hear from you!
Relevant candidates will likely be educatedd to PhD (or equivalent level) in disciplines such as Crop Breeding, Crop Genetics, Synthetic Biology, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology or similar. That aside, whether you are a recent graduate or have years' of post doc experience, we enourage you to get in touch.
Regardless of seniority level, candidates should be prepared to work in industry within a start-up environment, meaning being very hands on, working in a fast-paced setting, and occasionally having to wear a few different hats!
