About the Role As the Portfolio Strategy Analyst, you will play an integral role in driving the success underwriting portfolio strategy initiatives. Your core responsibilities will include: supporting the development of mid-term underwriting portfolio ambition, participating or leading deep-dive analysis of portfolios, markets, and peers, assisting in coordination of steering actions across P&C Re to optimize the overall book. You will have the opportunity to contribute insights to senior partners through various reports and presentations to the Board of Directors, Group and P&C Re Executive Committees. About the Portfolio strategy & CUO office Team We are a strategic unit reporting directly into the Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) within P&C Reinsurance, one of the main business units of Swiss Re. We work closely with the UW leadership team, line of business centers or steering heads, and portfolio managers to craft the direction of our underwriting ambition, fostering effective communication and alignment in underwriting strategy within the organization. Through in-depth analysis, we find opportunities and challenges to optimize our portfolio and provide insights to enhance underwriting decision making. About You We are seeking a self-motivated and proactive individual with the ability to build, collaborate and influence, thus engaging effectively with diverse teams. You are capable to manage multiple tasks efficiently under time constraints. An ideal candidate will have the following qualities: 2-5 years of relevant experience, ideally in the (re)insurance sector. Experience in strategy/management consulting or equity research is also valuable. Proficiency in research, including sourcing and analyzing market data, interpreting financial statements, collecting regulatory reports, and conducting peer analysis. Strong critical thinking skills with excellent numerical competence and analytical abilities. Ability to simplify complex data into clear, actionable insights.
