ISQ Recruitment is assisting a reputable client in the agriculture sector to fill the role of a Farm Manager.

Ready to advance your farming career? We're seeking a Farm Manager to support day-to-day farm management while upholding high standards of stock production and ensuring welfare, quality, and cost efficiency.

Key Role Objective:

In this role, you will ensure the smooth operation of the farm, aiming for the highest standards in welfare, weight, quality, and cost efficiency of stock produced. You'll be monitoring various farm conditions, implementing biosecurity measures, and managing staff while maintaining site security.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Daily inspection and walking of the birds with the assistant manager
  • Ensuring excellent bird health and welfare
  • Regular communication/liaising with the farms veterinary practice
  • Feed and water management including allocation of feed deliveries
  • Liaising with contractors, suppliers and planning team for chick placement and bird depopulation
  • Ensuring excellent production performance and tasks are completed to a high standard
  • Ventilation and lighting management
  • Vaccination of the birds
  • Identifying system faults and areas that need improvement
  • Minor maintenance across the farm
  • Carrying out tasks including record keeping for Red Tractor Assurance Standards
  • Overseeing birds leaving the farm at depopulation and depletion

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • A proven track record in excellent broiler production performance
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • A hands-on approach to maintenance
  • Progressive, forward thinking and a proactive mindset
  • Enthusiastic and caring attitude towards animals
  • A valid UK driving license
  • NVQ Level 3 in Poultry Production
