We are transitioning fast to commercialisation and require an exceptional Power Electronics Design and Developement Engineer to join our team.

Who we’re looking for

For an exceptional candidate who is passionate about the world of startups, technology and climate, this is an exciting opportunity to make a tangible long lasting difference.


Core responsibilities:

  • Design, development, and test of power electronics according to customer/project requirements.
  • Commercial experience, at a hands-on design and development level, of at least:
  • SMPS
  • Invertors/power bridges
  • PFC
  • EMC, particularly radiated emissions


The duties consist of the following activities specified below

  1. Translate project requirements into a design, development, and test plan under the supervision of a senior engineer.
  2. Collaborate with the Software Team to aid functional requirements.
  3. Build and verify circuit design with simulation and analysis.
  4. Experienced using LT-Spice of benefit.
  5. Support PCB, magnetics, and prototype build process.
  6. Set up and perform tests safely on assembled prototypes.
  7. Engineering change management documentation.
  8. Plan and coordinate resources required for the project.
  9. Participate in project meetings.
  10. Design documentation- schematic, BOM, PCB layout files, magnetics drawings.
  11. Experienced using Altium of major benefit.
  12. Test documentation- functional, safety, EMC, environmental test procedures and reports.
  13. Analysis reports- WCA (worst case analysis), PSA (parts stress analysis), FMEA/FMECA (failure mode and (criticality) effect analysis), FA (failure analysis) and Corrective Actions.
  14. Apply best practices in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT).
  15. Support lab Technicians(s) in preparations and interpretations of prototype builds and subsequent test data.
  16. Fault finding on prototype and pre-production runs to component level.

Location

The technical team are based in a state-of-the-art lab in the Technology Park at Cranfield University in Bedfordshire. With a growing team in London we’re committed to building a central location. Both locations available for anyone who wants to work from there. We have occasional team days where everyone meets face to face.
