We are searching an experienced Power Trader with a proven track record and an existing book to join our front office team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in power trading, a strong understanding of market dynamics, and the ability to develop and implement successful trading strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize market knowledge and analytical skills to identify trading opportunities and develop effective trading strategies.
- Execute trades in power markets to optimize profitability and manage risk.
- Build and maintain relationships with counterparties to facilitate trading activities and enhance market presence.
- Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and geopolitical events to anticipate market shifts and adapt trading strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including risk management, operations, and research to ensure alignment of trading activities with overall business objectives.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of trading tools, systems, and processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior traders as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) preferred.
- Experience in power trading managing your own VaR.
- Proven track record of successful trading performance and the ability to generate consistent returns.
- Strong understanding of power market fundamentals, trading techniques, and risk management principles.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make informed trading decisions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic trading environment, with a high level of adaptability and resilience.
