PR Account Executive
Leatherhead, Surrey HQ / Hybrid Working 3 days from home
Up to £25,000 + Benefits
Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 9.00am-5.30pm (37.5 Hours Per Week)
Reporting to: Account Manager / Account Director
Firm: B2B and B2C technology PR

What your day to day might look like:

+ Writing technical press releases, news stories, articles, case studies and product pieces
+ Pitching press releases and feature ideas by phone or email to national, regional and trade journalists, across print, broadcast and online publications, to engage them in covering clients’ stories
+ Researching and identifying forward feature and other media opportunities for clients
+ Fully managing the process of press release distribution for accounts, including list-building using the agency’s database system
+ Creating, building and maintaining excellent working relationships with clients, journalists and industry contacts
+ Responding to phone calls and emails from journalists and clients
+ Arranging interviews and meetings with key journalists
+ Planning events with account teams within relevant time, production and financial constraints
+ Attending client events and industry conferences, often overseas
+ Handling clients’ social media accounts such as Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn channels
+ Organising and working with the team on client advertising campaigns
+ Participating in client meetings and maintaining workload tracking documents
+ Completing timesheets in a timely manner

About you:

+ 6 months – 1 year’s PR/Marketing experience, preferably from within a PR Agency
+ Degree Educated in Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English, Communication or Media Studies
+ Excellent written and spoken English
+ Proficient in spelling, grammar, and proof-reading
+ IT Skills: Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, social media channels and other business-related software
+ Strong interpersonal skills to be able to relate to people on different levels within the agency, with clients and with the media, whether it is over the phone, by email or in person
+ Excellent telephone manner with a positive, friendly, persuasive, and upbeat tone
+ Ability to prioritise tasks and work quickly and efficiently, without compromising on quality
+ Ability to speak French, Italian, Spanish or German is desirable but not essential
