Metro is seeking a Pricing Analyst to join our Tariff Management team. If you have a commercial mindset and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment then we want to hear from you.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive customer quotations via varying methods – email / online portal etc
  • Support the Air Freight team – Imports / Exports / Cross Trade
  • Negotiate rates with carriers / hauliers / suppliers and confirm availability of equipment and agree prices where no tariff exists, to maximise cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare and submit customer quotations and proposals within agreed timeframe
  • Work within our in-house system to create and issue quotations
  • Communicate with customers to manage and follow up all quotes to obtain feedback to measure, analyse and circulate to the relevant teams, adjusting pricing where possible to ensure we secure opportunities.
  • Track success/failure rate of quotes, reporting back to management
  • Develop and build relationships and provide the highest level of customer service to all customers
  • Produce strategic tariffs when required to ensure effective workload and to ensure these tariffs are kept up to date and relevant
  • Monitor carrier websites and notifications
  • Promote continuous improvement
  • Engage with airfreight operational teams to ensure smooth handover of secured shipments
  • Any other delegated tasks deemed reasonable as assigned by the reporting manager in line with department growth.

General Skills

  • Industry and operational knowledge of Airfreight - inbound, outbound, and cross trade
  • An understanding of how to influence the profitability through effective pricing
  • Able to cope and accustomed to working under pressure to meet fixed deadlines
  • Dangerous Goods knowledge is preferable
  • Strong numerical and commercial skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent usage of computer / operating system (Microsoft Windows) along with other office applications (Microsoft Office) (Cargowise – preferable)
  • Proactive, team worker with excellent time management and organisation skills
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated
  • May be required to work some overtime and/or be flexible in start/finish times (during busier times!)
