Grantrow Recruitment is Principal Building Control Surveyor for our client in Northampton. Benefits of a Principal Building Control Surveyor 20 days annual leave Extended Christmas and bank holidays Company pension Parking on site Competitive Salary Details of a Principal Building Control Surveyor Hours of work: 37 hours- Monday- Friday Pay Rate: £45 - £55 per hour Umbrella £34.62 - £42.31 per hour PAYE Duration: 3 Months on going Location- Onsite Responsibilities of a Principal Building Control Surveyor To manage the day-to-day control of building work within the district To be the lead contact for major/complex projects as allocated by the Building Control Manager, in respect of plans examination, site inspections and enforcement. Checking plans and notices for compliance with Building Regulations and ancillary legislation, preparation of amendment schedules Processing plans and notices, preparing notices, passing/rejecting plans and other matters within statutory time limitations. Corresponding, discussing and liaising with all necessary bodies and people regarding plans, notices and other matters. Fire Service, Water Authorities as appropriate. Inspection of work of work on site in connection with all types of development. To ensure that fees and charges are recovered, including supplementary charges, in relation to Building Control applications in accordance with the scheme of charges and the controlling legislation. This includes staying up-to-date with any changes or updates to regulations. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Building Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is often required. Some employers may prefer candidates with a Master's degree for more senior positions. Depending on the country or region, obtaining professional certification or chartered status from a recognised institution or organisation may be necessary. For example, in the UK, becoming a Chartered Building Control Surveyor through the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is common. Significant experience working in building control or a related field is typically required for a Principal level position. This may include experience as a Building Control Surveyor or similar roles, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of construction processes, regulations enforcement, and project management.
