Job Description

Principal Consultant – Data Migration Team

We are seeking a consultant to join our client?s professional services team in the UK. The role is based from their London office. The consultant will be a team player, responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required specification and desired business outcomes. The consultant will liaise with project sponsors, providing regular updates, using clear and concise methods of communication. The consultant will work with internal teams, clients and multiple partner organisations, building relationships that will result in successful outcomes for the business.

Key Accountabilities

A principal consultant is typically engaged in the delivery phase of a project:

– Review scope of work and deliverables
– Attend workshops
– Review design (if available; smaller projects may not have a formal design)
– Review and update run book (list of activities) as appropriate for each project
– Liaise with the customer and colleagues as required
– Update timesheets daily (ticket system) with time delivered and brief description of activities
– Regular communication of project status
– Make decisions: analyse the impact of these decisions and escalate when appropriate
– Prioritise work streams: anticipate consequences of actions or potential problems
– Acceptance testing: ensure this process is well defined and adhered to
– Undertake regular reviews with stakeholders to continually assess the progress of the project

Mandatory experience
– Powershell
– SQL
– AD/DNS/DHCP
– Archive solution (on-premises or cloud based) e.g. but not limited to:
— EnterprisVault
— CommVault
— Mimecast
– Windows Server operating system (build and administration)
– Able to understand a range of different customer environments
– Able to logically assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues
– Customer facing
– Ability to create high quality documentation for internal and external use
Desirable experience (as many of the following as possible)
– Data Migration: Knowledge of data migration methodologies and toolsets e.g. but not limited to:
— Transvault
— Quest
— Quadrotech (Archive Shuttle)
– Change Management and/or Project Management Process
– Azure IasS
– Veritas Data Insights
– Veritas Enterprise Vault: Archiving platform used to archive multiple different data sources into Enterprise Vault to Single Instance and Compress and allow eDiscovery against the archived data sources
– eDP (formerly Clearewell)
– GDPR assessments
– Ediscovery and compliance within Office365
– End user training experience
– Enterprise Vault: Discovery Accelerator to create Cases and Searches against data archived into Enterprise Vault
– Enterprise Vault: Compliance Accelerator
– Supervision component used to sample data journalled into Enterprise Vault
– Email Systems: Administrator knowledge of Exchange and/or Notes
– SQL Administration: Collations, migrate database, manage maintenance plans, truncation, fragmentation, log shipping, clustering, HA and DR, backup recovery and restoration, advanced SQL query compilation
– EV Administration: Policies, message queues, provisioning groups, vault stores, partitions, indexes, web presentation, search, journal, configuration, user lists, environment forecasting, server performance
– Storage and network troubleshooting

– Primary focus area
– Lead delivery consultant within a data migration project e.g.
— On-premise archive solution to Office365
— On-premise archive solution to Mimecast
— On-premise archive solution to Enterprise Vault (Azure)

With experience, these activities will broaden to include:
— Leading design workshops
— Presales activities for new engagements
