Job Title: Principal Designer

Location: Hybrid working with site visits across the UK

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 (Depending on experience)

This position offers a fantastic opportunity for Principal Designers to join our established client. The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player, working closely with the operations manager while managing their own schedule.

Requirements:

  • Possess relevant technical and academic qualifications to demonstrate necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Membership in relevant professional institutions, or ability to obtain Certified Fellowship of the Association for Project Safety. Ability to obtain Technical Member (TechIOSH) status with the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, with progression to Chartered Member (CMIOSH) expected within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels internally and externally, and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to foster cooperation, coordination, and communication among designers.
  • Proven ability to build client relationships, ensure high standards of technical service, secure repeat business, and develop a profitable workload.
  • Competency in using IT, digital media, and technologies such as Microsoft Teams and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage various tasks, prioritize workloads, and manage time effectively to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current legislation and forthcoming changes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fulfill the role of Principal Designer/Adviser to the Principal Designer/Client (CDM 2015) Adviser as outlined under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (As Amended).
  • Represent the company at design team meetings, site meetings, and other relevant meetings as agreed at the start of the project.
  • Provide general advice on health & safety concerning construction-related health & safety issues.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures.
