Do you want to be part of a rapidly expanding M&E team within Infrastructure? Can you build relations with others to deliver an overall quality service? Are you a Chartered Electrical Engineer with a background in LV power systems? Then, join us for the next adventure in your career.

Create Solutions that will enable a better tomorrow
To grow our Infrastructure MEP capability, we are looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join us. Working for UK and international clients, you’ll have the ability to run multiple concurrent medium sized projects. You’ll undertake a client facing role in the development, design & coordination of infrastructure projects, which could include producing design packages for contractors working on a design & build contract.
Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Oversee engineering work related to the design and specification of MV/LV power systems and distribution, including the production of single line diagrams, load schedules, cable calculations, and general arrangements.
  • Oversee the design of other electrical systems, including fire alarm, security, lighting design, lightning protection, earthing, etc.
  • Supervising the preparation of technical specifications
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, particularly with the BIM team, to prepare design models and drawings.
  • Conducting thorough technical reviews of electrical designs, calculations, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements
  • Ensuring that manufacturing, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
  • Participate project meetings, site surveys and inspections.
  • Adhering to all quality and governance processes.

Your skills. Our team. Together we design the future.
The first step to success in this role is that you are eager to collaborate with the people around you, whether they are colleagues, partners, or customers. Developing ties with others is something you do by acting respectfully and delivering on your promises. And you never get set in your ways but keep exploring new insights and ways to improve.

On top of that, you’ll have:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Chartered Engineer status or a similar professional qualification
  • The ability to provide technically sound solutions alone and as a discipline lead.
  • Experience working on large scale infrastructure design projects.
  • Experience in using related software including Amtech & other digital design packages.
  • Proficiency in working with BIM software such as Revit, Open Buildings Designer or similar.
  • Awareness and knowledge of energy reduction methods, carbon calculations, and sustainable design (particularly low energy)
  • A good understanding of British and Industry recognised technical standards and regulations
  • The ability to prioritise own workload and to work to deadlines.
  • Knowledge of CDM2015 regulations, with an understanding of key health and safety issues and legislation.
