Copello are pleased to be partnered with a major aerospace and defence organisation based in Marlow recruiting for a Principal Electronics Engineer to join the Antenna's business unit.

Working within a cross functional team the Electronics Engineer will support the generation of proposals and lead bids from a technical perspective whilst working with other disciplines such as Firmware, Software, RF and Mechanical to achieve product requirements.

Day to day responsibilities will include;

  • Design, document, build, develop and test electronic circuits and sub-systems (including analogue, digital and mixed signal technologies)
  • Provide on-going product support for electronic products and respond to customer queries
  • Work with the manufacturing and production team to resolve any manufacturing issues
  • Stay up to date with new and emerging technologies and tools to improve knowledge and skills
  • Comply to engineering best practices, company governance and aerospace standards (including AS9100, ARP4754A, DO-254, and DO-178)

The successful Principal Electronics Engineer will have knowledge and experience of the following;

  • Power supply design, CPLDs and FPGAs, high-speed interfaces
  • General electronic hardware in the context of stringent environmental, EMC and Induced lighting requirements (DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-704)
  • Aerospace standards and processes such as AS9100, ARP4754A, DO-254, and DO-178 (or similar, recognised standards from a regulated industry)
  • Product development principals, and design and verification processes
  • Various component types and the ability to use them to meet requirements/ design needs
  • Embedded microprocessors software and CPLD firmware (and development tools)
  • Electronics design tools for schematic capture, circuit simulation and PCB layout
  • ISO9001/AS9100

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar position in a related field (Defence, Aviation, Aerospace or similar) and have a bachelors degree in Electronic Engineering (or similar).

It is an essential requirement for the Electronics Engineer to be eligible for UKSC Clearance.
