Principal Engineer | Head of Software Engineering
Reqiva are currently partnered with an exciting start-up company, who have launched a new product, offering an online commercial digital banking service.
The company are seeking a Principal Engineer/Head of Engineering to work closely with the CTO, leading, developing and expanding the team. This is a fully hands-on tech leadership role.
The company's offices are based in Central London, where you will be working on a Remote/hybrid basis.
Your Responsibilities:
- Act as the operational lead of all areas of the full-stack software engineering team and run the company's software development.
- Deliver reliable, scalable and secure SLA driven systems.
- Advise the company in software and service architectures, including platform engineering.
- Ensure compliance with governance and regulations within banking and finance.
- Support and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements:
- Experience in leadership, building, running and scaling full stack software engineering teams;
- Hands-on experience delivering to long-term production large scale systems
- Understanding of cloud first architectures, design patterns, concurrent and distributed architectures, serverless architectures and high-performance data-pipelines.
- Software Engineering experience with Java, JVM, Kubernetes, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Kafka.
- Experience in end to end deployment (CI/CD/CF).
- Experience in major cloud ecosystems, AWS, Azure or GCP.
- Strong Education background, ideally a PhD.
