Job Description

Role overview:The Business Line Controller is responsible for the financial analysis for a business area. A key focus is the ability to collaborate with the businesses to ensure appropriate development of meaningful, valued added MIS, and the regular examination, explanation and implication of business results.  The individual will have a high level of interaction and accountability with EMEA management and the financial teams in Europe and New York.Emphasis is placed on understanding the impact of investment decisions and providing independent, forward-looking analysis.  The position will also be required to support future growth initiatives, revenue altering projects, and the holistic view of client relationships. Core Responsibilities:Financial support for the following areas of Markets:EMEACOOPresentation of results to LOB Management teamsManagement of all financial support for EMEA Markets/Markets Central/Execution ServicesAnnual operating & capital plansMonthly financial reporting & analysis and assessment of performanceReforecasts as requiredFinancial support and analysis for new product launchesProvide input to the banks consolidated mgmt. reporting packs,Answer queries from Legal Entity Controller teams relating to financial performance of Markets LOBs in EMEAMaintenance of cost centre hierarchy in MAQAct as a thought partner and senior advisor. The role needs to be the recognised confident of each MD and their recognised point of authority / reference for all financial matters and ensure their needs are served and their key deliverables are me Contribute to business strategy through review and identification of process reengineering, cost saving and revenue enhancement opportunitiesQualifications:Accounting (CIMA/ACA/ACCA), analytical (CFA) and/or other financial professional qualificationExceptional verbal and written communication skillsGood judgement, maturity and poise to enable interaction/influencing of senior managementThoughtful analytical skills; able to develop, clearly present and draw conclusionsSelf-starter; ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlinesBe flexibility to support ad-hoc request reporting, projects and small-scale development work on as-needed basisDisciplined approach to managing processes and controlsEnergetic, self-motivated and effective under pressureStrong analytical and data manipulation skills; proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPointStrong project management and presentation skillsSignificant years of experience in financial services preferredStaff management experienceExperience supporting a Front Office ProductProven track record in building strong relationships with Snr MgmtBNY Mellon is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
