Wood are currently recruiting for a Principal Pipe Stress Engineer to join our multidiscipline and multi-client Aberdeen Engineering Hub, to support various scopes.
The successful candidate will:

  • Prepare and agree estimates for stress reviews/analysis
  • Review and agree pipe stress analysis request/scope of work
  • Carry out stress review/analysis as requested
  • Liaise with piping for changes to pipe routing and support locations or type
  • Liaise with structural with respect to significant displacements or loads
  • Liaise with mechanical with respect to allowable nozzle loadings
  • Apply checking and approval process to stress calculations and reports
  • Provide completion advice to piping including restraint/nozzle loads and moments
  • Verify AFC isometrics against final stress analysis
  • Approved AFC isometrics/pipe supports where required for pipe stress
  • Prepare and issue stress reports
  • Manage and report progress on assigned stress reviews/analysis
  • Identify criticality criteria for indication on process line list
  • Execute assigned work in accordance with applicable contract procedures and client and project standards

Skills / Qualifications
  • BSc, BEng or equivalent professional qualification or HND or equivalent with extensive relevant experience in a similar role
