Job description: We are recruiting for a Principal Property Locum to join a North West based Local Authority on a full-time basis, for a period of 6 months initially. This is a project-based role that has the potential to be a long-term arrangement of 12 – 24 months for the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced lawyer to an exceptional Property Team, within a wider Regeneration Group. Ideally, the successful candidate would be willing to travel to the office on a weekly basis, but this can be negotiated.
The role will involve:
- Drafting, structuring, and dealing with high profile, high value and complex regeneration schemes and property transactions
- Preparing reports on title
- Providing advice on Council powers (reports to the Executive if needed)
- Drafting and negotiating leases
- Providing to train and supervise a team of lawyers, write precedents, report to the client and oversee the delivery of the project
- Working closely with the Homelessness Team within the Council to ensure service delivery of a project for the grant of 1600 10 year plus one day leases
Salary: £60 - £65 per hour
The ideal candidate would be a Qualified Solicitor with previous Local Authority experience. The Council are looking for someone to start in April 2024.
