Overview of Role

FinTrU are looking for a Principal Product Development QA Engineer to join our Technology team.

This role can be based at one of the following locations: Derry/Londonderry, Letterkenny, Porto, or Belfast.

Please note: London, or mainland GB, is not a possible location for this role. This role must be based on the island of Ireland or in Portugal.

What can you expect in this role:

Working locally on the global stage to support the building out of innovative SaaS products within an Agile Framework, you will interact with multiple disciplines, such as Data Science, InfoSec, DevOps, Architecture, Product and Program Management, contributing to our culture of Engineering excellence.

  • Design and implement FinTrU's Product strategy using proven frameworks and cutting-edge technology stacks to accomplish the end goal.
  • Research, design, build, and enhance new and existing robust framework solutions to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Drive your own professional development and help others succeed in their professional development.
  • Construct, work to, and improve on existing Product Development Engineering processes, standards, and practices by exploring new technologies and industry standards.
  • Contribute to the growth of FinTrU Technology and help define our path.

The experience required for this role:

  • 9+ years within a Software Development environment as a Senior QA Engineer, with hands-on testing and automation experience included in this timeframe.
  • Code: .Net (or other object-oriented language), OOP skills, REST API design testing experience and familiarity.
  • Data: RMDBS & No-SQL (OLTP and OLAP) structured and unstructured data skills (query, modelling, indexing), Caching (Redis or other), search engine and indexing (Elastic or other stack) testing experience and familiarity.
  • Messaging experience with Apache Kafka / Azure Service Bus testing experience.
  • Hosting environment: Docker, Kubernetes, Microsoft Azure familiarity.
  • Experience in designing, developing and implementing performance, scalability, failover and stress testing approaches.
  • Machine Learning exposure.
  • Infrastructure as code.
  • Coaching and mentoring our engineers and Senior engineer team members.
  • Strong, effective communication skills to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and communicate across multiple functions.

Person Specification for this role:

  • You are passionate about building Regulatory Technology SAAS products to help combat financial crime, by applying the latest technologies to optimise automated KYC, monitoring, and regulatory reporting.
  • You are a passionate individual who will support, lead and drive the building of SaaS products promoting a positive Engineering culture.
  • You will thrive in an agile cross-functional environment ensuring the continuous success of our engineering space by aligning to our FinTrU people-centric values.
