Principal/Lead Systems Scientist – Buckinghamshire - £65,000 - £85,000 pa
A leading, global scientific instrumentation company are looking for a Principal Systems Scientist to join their R&D team developing a range of instruments used in the medical, pharmaceutical and biological industries.
Responsibilities:
- Tactical and strategic oversight of the systems team
- Systems design & verification
- Strong understanding product system and sub-system level performance parameters and requirements
- Contribute to high-level design & testing in one or multiple engineering disciplines
- Work in a multi-disciplinary team of Mechanical, Electronics Hardware & Software Engineers
- Design & conduct experiments to test product and manufacturing performance
Key Skills/Experience:
- Degree in Physics or another relevant engineering discipline
- High level engineering/Physics/Maths knowledge
- Strong technical risk assessment knowledge
- Proven background in designing and constructing experiments
- Good data analysis & report writing skills
Non-Essential/Nice to have’s:
- Strong knowledge of optics/opto-electronics
- Experience with high-precision designs
- Product development/design experience
- Experience with instrumentation design
- FMEA
