We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Transport Planner to join our growing Planning Team based in London and Slough. The position itself will include, but not be limited to:
  • Delivering sustainable transport strategies, active travel, Low Traffic Neighbourhoods, walking and cycling initiatives
  • Developing Local Transport and Cycling and Walking Plans for local authorities
  • Delivering air quality strategies and clear air initiatives such as LEZs and CAZs
  • Managing staff under his / her team effectively and motivating and encouraging performance.
  • Assuming responsibility for financial control, quality and technical input for all assigned projects.
  • Developing new initiatives and pursuing opportunities through business development activities that will raise your personal and the company profile
  • Day-to-day supervision and management of technical staff and the direction of staff on projects
  • Project managing / directing in accordance with Client requirements
  • Ensure all project files are up to date and comply with the QA system.
  • Contribute to the management of the Transport Planning Team.
  • Managing client relationships to ensure their needs are met
Our ideal candidate will have but not limited to:
  • Relevant Degree or equivalent
  • A minimum of 7 year's relevant experience
  • Membership of a professional institution (e.g. MILT, MICE or MCIHT)
  • Alternative consideration given to significant relevant experience in lieu of specified education and professional qualification.
  • Comprehensive understanding of traffic and transportation techniques, highway design and transport planning principles and a proven track record in project design and delivery;
  • Good project management skills;
