Oculus Legal Group, working in close partnership with our award winning and highly ranked (Legal500) legal client, are assisting with the appointments of a Senior Solicitor and Solicitor to join their friendly and talented Private Client practice team in Edinburgh.

Appointment Summary

Our client’s private client practice has a diverse client base with a strong network of HNW individuals, undertaking a varied role as a Solicitor and Senior Solicitor your duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Advising clients on a variety of issues through meetings and consultations.
  • Providing counsel on matters such as Wills, Tax Planning, Executries, Trusts, and Guardianships.
  • Playing a proactive role in enhancing and expanding the existing private client services, collaborating closely with other practice areas to elevate the profile of the private client team through various business development initiatives.
  • Managing instructions and drafting letters/correspondence. Serving as the primary point of contact for clients and overseeing case management.


Required Background(s)

  • At Solicitor level, our client is looking ideally for 1+ years PQE however if you have gained experience in private client during your traineeship and are a NQ, this would be a potential fantastic opportunity for you.
  • At Senior Solicitor level, our client is looking for 3+ years PQE gained. You would also have gained experience or are keen to develop your experience in supporting and managing junior team members.
  • Demonstrable background in Private Client including experience in Executries, wills, power of attorneys, guardianships, and trusts.
  • Ideally be STEP qualified or have a desire to obtain STEP qualification.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
