Vacancy: Process Safety Engineer

Location: Swindon, UK

As the Process Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the site's Process Safety management strategies while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. You will support the Process Safety Roadmap, improving and developing PSRM practices and systems efficiently and driving consistent behaviours and systematically controlling process safety risk and compliance at site. The role will also liaise regularly and proactively with the site EHS team.

Your responsibilities: Coordinate and facilitates process safety management through leading the site's Process Hazard Analysis (PHA/PHR)/HAZOPs programs to identify, evaluate and control potential hazards within processes including hazard identification, risk assessments, mitigation planning and project implementation, development of procedures, compliance auditing and compliance reporting. Ensure key process safety risks are understood across site through communication of site maximum credible events (MCE's). Lead delivery of safety critical task analysis (SCTA) across site working with other SCTA practitioners as required. Plans mitigation of process safety risks and manages projects to implement mitigation plans. Reviews all MOCs for PSM related items. Ensure PSSR (Pre-Startup Safety Review) are completed for all Management of Change (MOCs). Compile and monitor associated KPI's / metrics within Process Safety Management and generate weekly and monthly reports.

Requirements for the role: Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering or equivalent experience - Essential Minimum of 3-5 years of Process Engineering experience - Essential Minimum of 1-2 years working in Process Safety field - Essential Knowledge of applicable local PSRM regulations - Essential Experience working with highly hazardous chemicals; toxic, flammable, pyrophoric - Essential. Working knowledge of Process Safety methodologies and tools like LOPA, HAZOP, PHA, QRA - Essential
