East London

Up to £50,000 DOE

Mainstay are currently looking for a Procurement professional to join a successful team working within the public sector. The role will be focused on the Estates and Facilities Category and require you to manage procurement projects from start to finish.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience at a similar level and in return our client is offering hybrid working and an excellent package.

What will the role involve :

  • You will be working within the Procurement team spending three days from home and two from the central office
  • Part of the role will be focused on procurement of tenders from scoping through to contract win which will involve regular communication with key stakeholders and sub-contractors
  • You will be responsible for the internal delivery of the strategic and operational procurement for defined categories through delivery of high value contracts
  • You will support your colleagues within the team and deputise in the absence of the senior Business partner
  • Developing the interface between business units and corporate support functions
  • You will drive change, innovate procurement practice and push for cost savings and compliance
  • You will support with achieving and maintain standards by leading on a key area of strategic delivery
  • Use specialist category and procurement knowledge and expertise to produce and implement 3-5 year procurement strategies for assigned product/service areas of the strategic procurement plan
  • Gather and analyse comprehensive data on products, services and suppliers
  • Identify and manage the risk through the procurement process and take responsibility for the development and review of strategies to deliver best practice

What you will need?

  • Previous experience within a senior procurement role ideally within the public sector
  • Experience of the Estates and Facilities sector highly desirable
  • Industry recognised qualifications such as CIPS
  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience within procurement
  • Strong communicator with the ability to present at all levels including stakeholders
  • Organised will attention to detail
