Procurement Lead (Precision)Monday – FridayCirca £42,000 (negotiable)RedditchThe Role:You will be responsible for supporting the continuing development of the precision business unit to facilitate procurement activities to achieve growth.The Procurement lead will also be responsible for supplier compliance throughout and ensure the supply chain maintains the quality and capacity to meet business needs both ethically and responsibly, whilst further developing supplier relationships and ensuring value for money against the economies of scale.What will you be doing?* To focus on and manage the raw material supply chain for the area of precision business unit/forge based on the requirements of the thirteen-week production plan* Lead operational relationships between supply partners and co-ordinate all improvement activities associated with the master plan and production plan* Identify Material Launch prevention issues and raise them with respective stakeholders to coordinate the suitable resolution* Responsible for measuring raw material launch performance into production and ensuring adherence to plan against incoming deliveries* Measure, report and deliver against departmental KPI’s* Interface with operational functions and act as the conduit between planning department and procurement department* Mitigate Material Shortages and ensure the flow of critical raw material either from source, supplied or subcontractor and escalate in a timely manner* To know they key personnel at each major raw material supplier and external subcontractor, to have a full understanding of the supplier’s production processes, internal systems and policies with a view to facilitate ethical and solid working relationships with key supply partners and service providers* Coordinate and manage requirements including the reviewing and preauthorisation of purchase ordersWhat will you bring to the party?* At least 5 years in supply chain operations, either a material controller or planning role with a procurement bias* Proficient in MRP systems with at least 5 years experienced of end-to-end MRP and product flow* Strong and proven background in supplier relationship management including expertise in the application and use of negotiating techniques and principles* Experience of Managing a small team, including people development and peer to peer training* Must posses high level knowledge of finance, material requirement planning, inventory control techniques, value analysis, production processes, and computer operations.What Happens Next?On applying for this job, you consent to SJR Partners holding your details on file to be able to contact you about your job search, for full details of our GDPR policy, please refer to our website.
