Overview

Everest People Solutions seeks a Purchasing Manager to oversee daily procurement operations, drive improvement initiatives, and foster a high-performance culture. You'll champion sustainability, aligning with organisational goals, and ensure seamless procurement scalability amidst business expansion while meeting SLAs. Responsibilities include refining procurement standards, managing expenditure, cultivating supplier partnerships, and maintaining a dynamic supplier framework. Collaborating with the Supply Chain team, you'll align material needs with sales projections and uphold meticulous procurement records. Leading by example, you'll nurture the team, providing guidance and delivering comprehensive reports on supplier performance and cost savings.


Key Duties & Responsibilities for the Procurement Manager

  • Negotiate prices and contract terms with suppliers for both new and existing product lines.
  • Ensure timely and complete delivery of goods.
  • Regularly assess business procurement needs.
  • Set and achieve cost-saving targets.
  • Supervise the supply base to meet strict inbound delivery deadlines.
  • Identify and address potential risks and opportunities.
  • Demonstrate confidence in making tough decisions.
  • Conduct stock takes and monitor inventory levels.
  • Analyse procurement data to produce meaningful business reports.
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of current and potential suppliers by category.
  • Create summaries of supplier capability analysis to aid benchmarking.
  • Establish thorough market intelligence within specific packaging and ingredient categories.
  • Support new product development and provide timely costing inquiries.
  • Take ownership of and maintain commercial relationships within categories.
  • Formulate business continuity plans for strategic packaging and ingredient suppliers.
  • Review and enhance protocols to drive company growth and innovation through supply base optimization.
  • Make recommendations and devise purchasing strategies.
  • Fulfil any other assigned duties.


Requirements for the Procurement Manager

  • CIPS qualification is desirable.
  • Established Buyer with a successful track record in the Food Manufacturing Sector, possessing deep understanding of the supply chain dynamics.
  • Self-motivated and proactive individual with strong influencing and negotiation skills, adept at taking initiative and driving results.
  • Experienced in managing teams and demonstrating effective leadership abilities.
  • Naturally curious and detail-oriented, with a penchant for analysing commodities markets.
  • Possesses strong commercial acumen and financial literacy, with a results-driven mindset.
  • Skilled in time management, capable of setting and achieving challenging targets.
  • Proficient in IT and numerical skills, with confidence in using Microsoft packages.
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Demonstrates the ability to thrive under pressure, multitask effectively, and utilize data for informed decision-making.
