My client are an investor, owner and operator of large-scale battery systems who are leading the way on energy transition by focusing on the management and stability of energy who are focusing on two main key areas:
- Displacing large power generation through using battery systems to discharge batteries into the grid, stabilizing the grid and making energy more stable.
- Synchronous condenser projects with National Grid.
This client are passionate about Net Zero and are focusing on the management of energy as this will be a key factor in achieving Net Zero by 2035.
Funding:
They have raised £500million GBP and finalised on their first dept raise in the UK of 170million GBP.
The Opportunity!
They are seeking an experienced Procurement manager who can work closely with their CTO, and Head of construction specializing in Battery Energy Storage. You will be responsible for overseeing the strategic procurement process for battery energy storage systems and related components. Your primary focus will be to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of high-quality batteries and associated equipment, while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of battery energy storage technology, market dynamics, and supply chain management.
Responsibilities - What a Procurement Manager will be doing?
- Working with the Head of Construction to go through contractor process and negotiate contracts on their behalf.
- Identify areas of improvement within the current procurement processes.
- Develop and implementing procurement strategies.
- Supplier Management: Ensure major equipment and contracts have been contractually agreed and signed to make sure the projects are running on time.
- Cost analysis and budgeting.
- Managing the procurement management process.
- Contract Management: Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers.
The ideal candidate will have experience within the Battery Energy Storage space, but experience within Power (Solar or Wind) will also be considered too.
This role is based in London, and the successful candidate will be required to work within their London office x2 per week.
