FINANCE TEAM

As part of the Finance Team, we are responsible for all the number crunching – that means, producing timely financial information and reports across the business as we cover some of the most iconic racing events in the history of British motorsport, including the Formula 1 British Grand Prix, MotoGP British Grand Prix and the largest historic race festival, the Silverstone Classic.

We support all areas of the business including the Corporate Events team, drive experiences, partnerships & sponsorships, track hire, catering and merchandising. Supporting all business functions with accurate and timely reporting is an essential part of the finance function and is therefore a truly unique and exciting opportunity for a driven finance individual.


JOB PURPOSE

To lead on the management of all procurement and contracting activity; ensuring it is undertaken on time, in accordance with legislation, company policies and procedures and principles of good practice and to maximise cost-savings and benefits to the business. The role will involve the ensuring purchasing of goods and/or services achieves the best value for money for the business following the completion of a robust tender and procurement process; and with the supplier relationships actively managed.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development and implementation of cost-effective procurement strategies and policies.
  • Management of the overall direction, co-ordination and evaluation of procurement for the business.
  • Performance of risk management activities for supply contracts and agreements.
  • Development of strong relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve the business.
  • Liaison with key business employees to determine their product and service needs.
  • Evaluation and strategic sourcing of potential suppliers, including the analysis of procurement projects and bid submissions.
  • Creation of request for quotes and oversight of competitive bidding cycles.
  • Performance of agreed procurement activities including negotiating supplier agreements, preparation of contracts and tender management.
  • Negotiation of contracts with vendors to secure the best deals and terms.
  • Monitoring of supplier performance for optimal business performance.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations and standards.
  • Monitoring of industry trends and developments.
  • Management of key supplier relationships.
  • Support with transition of outgoing suppliers and onboarding of incoming suppliers.

  • Work as part of the team to develop and mentor others and to support the commercial and operational success of events.
  • Create a positive, proactive culture and environment within the department.
  • Promote at all times the professional image of the company by ensuring high standards of both professionalism and personal presentation.
  • Support with the management of the business’s contracts and professional services relationships.
  • Provide appropriate training to the business to upskill in relation to cost-saving approaches and tender activity.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS


  • In-house commercial or high value procurement contract administration experience.
  • Experience in negotiating, establishing and managing contracts and supplier relationships.
  • Skilled and accurate in reviewing contract terms and conditions.
  • Strong and confident communicator
  • Excellent stakeholder and supplier management skills.
  • Good judgement and analytical ability.
  • High-level commercial awareness.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Comfort working under pressure and dealing with challenging situations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Driven, motivated and committed.
  • Proficient in working independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible in working hours and in approach.
  • Awareness of relevant laws, regulations and standards.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
