Job title: Procurement Manager

Salary: £61,110+ depending on skills & experience
What you'll be doing:
- To develop and implement sourcing strategies to ensure the requirements of the FCAS Systems of Systems are met
- To Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contract and manage supplier performance
- Driving novel and disruptive Supply Chain technologies into the programme to remove touchpoints and waste from the programme, particularly via contracting with Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) at the Concept and Assessment Phase
- To identify potential vendors, conduct thorough evaluations, and make informed decisions
- Align and engage with the SDU to ensure synergies are maximised
- Creation of an innovation ecosystem that is able to support and enable all aspects of the FCAS programme
- Collaborate with internal stakeholder, such as finance, operations, commercial etc, to align procurement activities with the overall programme objectives
Your skills and experiences:
Essential Skills:
- Supply Chain experience, working within the early lifecycle of a programme, particularly in relation to more digital products.
- Experience in managing complex or novel contracts with suppliers which require skills in collaboration and partnering.
- Strong Commercial, Contractual, Legal and business acumen, with proven negotiation skills
- Proven Procurement experience in Market Intelligence, International Sourcing, Risk and Opportunity Management, Contracting and Supplier Relationship Management
Desirable skills:
- Working knowledge of UK MoD Framework Contracts and DEFCONs
- Understanding and application of International business
- Project management skills would be desirable

The Air Vehicle and Flight Controls Value Team:
Responsible for leading and developing a team of Senior Procurement Engineers in the Air Vehicle and Flight Controls Value Team to deliver strategic value across several high value, critical Suppliers. Building effective Supplier and internal stakeholder relationships to lead major equipment modification programmes. Responsible to drive cost reduction initiatives and affordability campaigns ensuring value for money and managing supplier risk and supply chain resilience on both the current platforms and future platforms.
