Key Information

Job Title: Procurement Manager

Salary: We are keen to offer a competitive compensation package dependent on skills and experience, therefore, we actively encourage candidates to disclose their salary expectations at interview stage.

Hours: 37.5 per week

Location: we are looking for candidates based within a commuting distance to any of our TEAM sites, including:

Kendal, Cumbria (preferred)

Carlisle, Cumbria

Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire


About the role

The principle responsibilities of this role include:

  • Researching and evaluating prospective suppliers in line with business needs.
  • Negotiate supplier rates to ensure the rates meet budgeted requirements through continuous assessment of suppliers and meeting with key suppliers regularly.
  • Preparing plans for the purchase of equipment, services, and supplies.
  • Comparing and evaluating offers from suppliers.
  • Maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records.
  • Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
  • Preparing budgets, cost analysis, and reports.
  • Create, track and report key metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery.
  • Ensure use of pre-qualified suppliers or contractors to supply and provide services. • Responsibility of company fleet management.
  • Ownership of the internal supplier review process.
  • Ownership of critical supplier appraisal process.
  • Point of contact for internal and external audits (financial & quality).
  • Maintaining good supplier relations.
  • Ensure best practice is carried out in accordance with company guidelines and in accordance with SOX procedures.


About you

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in a similar procurement role/Familiarity with best Procurement practices
  • Good IT, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Persistent and self-motivated attitude
  • Knowledge of fleet management (essential)
  • CIPS Qualification (desirable)


Additional Information

This is a full-time office based role.

If the successful candidate is not local to Kendal, some travel to Kendal will be expected
