We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join the team based around our East Anglian Mills. Role Profile

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role is responsible for implementing and optimising procurement processes, driving cost efficiencies, and ensuring seamless supply chain management across all sites. You will enhance procurement strategies, negotiate contracts, and establish supplier relationships to achieve operational excellence and meet business objectives.


Key Responsibilities

You will review the current procurement process and procedures, ensuring best practices are applied and developed across the business at all sites.

  • You will be accountable for the demand planning function with stock management of engineering spares and consumable stocks.

  • Audit and recommend changes to improve the supply chain to manage effective KPI measures and contracted performance drivers aligned with demand planning and procurement functions.

  • Support and be accountable for negotiating surrounding costs for procuring all site engineering, consumables goods and site services against business requirements, including quarterly reviews.

  • Lead the procurement & supply chain strategy via robust supplier development and management, targeting efficiencies, cost reduction and service improvements.

  • Analysis and quantify current portfolio and customers' spending/trends – ongoing product performance.

  • Ensure supplier review of contracts and put in place contracts where not present, making sure to set KPIs and SLAs. Review contracts to mitigate against supply risk operationally and reputationally and to put pricing structures, growth volume/price breaks, and agreed contractual obligations (including lead time and MOQs) in place.

  • Set a new strategy to ensure the business can procure at the best competitive market price and is validated through expertise and knowledge.


  • Person Specification

    Qualifications:

    CIPS Level 4 Diploma – Desirable


    Knowledge:

    Strong understanding of engineering principles and familiarity with engineering spares.

    Knowledge of procurement processes and best practices.

    Understanding of supply chain management principles.

    Proficiency in contract negotiation and supplier relationship management.

    Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.

    Prior experience or knowledge of feed manufacturing processes, ingredients, and quality standards.


    Skills and Experience:

    Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management.

    Excellent analytical skills to analyse spending trends and evaluate supplier performance.

    Strong communication and negotiation skills.

    Ability to develop and implement strategic procurement initiatives.

    Effective problem-solving abilities.

    Meticulous attention to detail.

    Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

    Previous experience in negotiating contracts for engineering goods and consumables.

    Experience in conducting supplier audits and implementing supply chain improvements.

    Prior experience in the poultry feed manufacturing industry.
