Job Description
Copello have partnered with a leading defence business in the recruitment of Procurement Professionals / Practitioners to be based in Cumbria.
Depending on level, responsibilities will include:
- Responsibility for sourcing, negotiating, placing & managing contracts to de-risk the programme
- Working in conjunction with the Integrated Delivery Team and cross programme key stakeholders
- Maintaining reporting and managing information in line with programme requirements including Cost and spend management, Supplier performance, Schedule delivery performance of data and hardware
- Maintenance and creation of Purchase Orders in SAP and associated purchasing systems
- Accountability for all related Supply Chain activity in line with area of responsibility
- Contract management – major subcontract & transactional
- Undertaking all aspects of procurement related activity to cost, quality and schedule
- Delivering Procurement expertise in line with corporate Procurement policy and process in line with business requirements and performance objectives
- You will have the ability to work as part of a team at pace, be professional within the procurement field and be flexible at all points of the procurement lifecycle
- Undertaking reporting, data analysis, updating contracting documents and other ad hoc activities
The ideal candidates will have the following skills and experience:
- Excellent communication skills within a similar professional setting
- SAP knowledge with Previous experience in Procurement preferable
- Proficient IT user – Purchase Order/ERP systems, Microsoft Office applications
- Competent knowledge of contracts and how to manage these
- Excellent stakeholder management and communications skills across all levels
- Strategic approach to tasks
- Equipment procurement experience
- Experience in dealing with high value and volume contracts
