Job Description

Job Title: Product Developer

Reporting To: Senior PD Manager Accessories and Shoes

Hours: 40 per Week

Job Purpose: You will have the main responsibility for the product development of footwear within the timings established, maintaining JW Anderson’s quality standards.You will follow each collection in order to achieve the main targets and objectives in terms of quality, lead time, margin and cost. This role will report to the PD Senior Manager and work alongside one freelance design consultant.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development of Pre and show collections across Menswear and Womenswear lines (6 collections).
  • Responsible for ensuring all samples are developed to targeted deadlines with the desired aesthetic.
  • Participate in the research of new materials and techniques for the new ideas supporting the design team.
  • Work closely with the design team and the suppliers: coordinate and ensure information flows between all actors of the process.
  • Develop effective working relationships with suppliers and internal departments as well as finding new footwear suppliers.
  • Responsible for comments on prototypes, SMS, pre-production- and production samples.
  • Be accountable for the footwear budget, monitor all through the season.
  • Liaison with the Production Department, Studio, and Merchandising.
  • Accountable for tracking developments to ensure deliveries are on time.
  • Negotiating prices with manufacturers in relation to expected volumes.
  • Responsible for preparing BOMs in RLM and keep the information in the system up to date.
  • Co-operation with the Production Department, building spec sheets for handovers.
  • Responsible to prepare collection overviews with InDesign.
  • Travelling to factories with design if needed.
  • Understanding quality standards, functionality (including consistency and standardisation) and end use.

About You:

  • A minimum of 4-5 years’ experience in a similar luxury fashion role.
  • Capability knowledge of vendors and vendor management.
  • Capability of working with multiple projects & cross functional teams; partnering closely with the Design team.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Solution orientated – problem solver, flexible and adaptable, resilient.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong IT skills including Office (Excel mainly), Illustrator and Photoshop. Knowledge of RLM systems would be a plus.
  • Fluent in Italian or Spanish would be a plus
