Role purpose


To collaborate in determining the strategy and development of the product offering for Gatehouse Bank Plc with consideration applied to the commercial, market and regulatory operating requirements (internal and external) through robust risk management in addition to managing and influencing key stakeholder relationships. The role is primarily focussed on Retail Finance products, with support for other product types.

Key responsibilities


  • Collaborate with Senior Product Manager to oversee strategic, commercial, and regulatory aspects of product development
  • Determine customer needs and desires by carrying out the research needed to obtain market and competitor information
  • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements.
  • Assess product market data through attending broker visits with Business Development Manager’s (BDM’s), as agreed with Line Manager
  • Provide management information for short-term and long-term product sales forecasts, regular and special reports, and analyses to include, but not exclusively, Board, ExCo, ALCO, Customer Committee and Consumer Duty reports as required
  • Produce business proposals and data to bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs in line with business needs


Key Skills required


  • Leadership skills, including the ability to manage product risk, compliance, and control activities
  • Considerable knowledge and experience of best practice and governance frameworks, methodologies, and emerging practice, in relation to the development and management of home finance products in UK regulated financial services context
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to influence and motivate others
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyse complex information to identify the key issue/action and drive resolution
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk control arrangements
  • Knowledge of regulatory environment and key regulatory regimes
  • Advanced Excel and Word skills


Beneficial skills, knowledge, and experience


  • Extensive knowledge of the UK Mortgage sector
  • Understanding of Shariah Banking
  • Previous experience of product management
