Production Engineer Job In Farnborough

On behalf of our client, an established aerospace tier 1 manufacturer, we’re seeking a meticulous Production Engineer to join their growing team in Farnborough. Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager, this role will offer the chance to move away from hands-on engineering and work closely with the Business Development team on quotes and proposals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translation of Customer Drawings and Specifications: Provide accurate interpretation within the quotation process.
• Manufacturing Cost Estimates: Prepare detailed cost estimates for machined components and complex pipe assemblies, including the bill of materials required for customer quotations.
• Production/Manufacturing Process Sheets: Create detailed sheets ensuring all processes are included and comply with customer contract requirements.
• Communication: Manage daily calls or meetings with internal departments, customers, raw material suppliers, and service providers to ensure up-to-date information is communicated within the wider team.
• Product Performance Assessment: Conduct margin analysis and explore cost reduction opportunities.
• Quoting Module Development: Collaborate with the Commercial Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Epicor Teams to enhance the quoting module for accurate and user-friendly quote generation.
• Commercial Proposals Preparation: Work with team members across various UK and International sites.
• Customer Liaison: Engage with customers to close out and secure quoted work.

Qualifications:

• Proven estimating experience within aerospace engineering.
• Strong understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings and complex BOMs.
• Excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel and other Microsoft Office packages, with ERP experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills with effective communication abilities, both written and verbal.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Days: Monday to Thursday 7:30 to 16:30, Friday 7:30 to 12:30.
