Job Description

CPS Group have been pleased to be partnered alongside this client for over 10 years, helping them with their expansion across Europe. Our client is globally renowed medical device manufacturer, that is investing heavily into their Cardiff site and is now looking for a Production Engineer to join the team. Job Purpose: Support new and existing products within the production environment. Key Responsibilities: Production Equipment Management Provide production with effective test and process equipment, ensuring proper documentation and maintenance. Assist in the validation of manufacturing processes. Implement new test and production methods. Serve as the primary contact with process equipment manufacturers and maintenance providers. Production Support Collaborate across departments to swiftly resolve production issues. Technical Support Act as the primary liaison between R&D and production for technical concerns. Advise on alternative electronic components to replace obsolete items on PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies). Manage PCBA Parts Lists and ensure relevant teams are informed of component obsolescence. New Product Introduction (NPI) Represent production engineering in NPI project teams, advising on manufacturing aspects. Coordinate pilot and pre-production build phases to align with project goals. Develop production-related documentation, such as build instructions and test procedures. Managing Change Raise change requests for manufacturing processes and documentation. Compile engineering change notes for process improvements. Manage trial batches for production process alterations. Health & Safety Complete COSHH assessments and support other H&S activities as needed. Undertake additional duties as required to meet company objectives. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: Essential: Experience in electronic product manufacturing. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.). Ability to interpret electronic circuit diagrams and component datasheets. Minimum qualification: HNC/HND in Electronics. Strong problem-solving skills. Desirable: Experience managing test equipment for PCBAs. Familiarity with LabView-controlled functional test systems. Basic mechanical engineering knowledge. Experience managing component obsolescence. Personal Qualities: Strong team player. Ability to work independently and achieve set goals.
