Job Description

Our client is a leading andwell-respected manufacturing company who specialise in the Petrochemicalindustry. Due to increased demand they are nowlooking for a Production Engineer. Production Engineers define and workout how the product will be manufactured and/or assembled in productionincluding design of tooling ensuring the right quantity of components/productsare delivered and aligned to support the speed of the production. Reviewefficiencies and eliminate waste within the manufacturing process to deliverhigh quality products/components to clearly defined standards. Key Roles andResponsibilities:·Design, development and control of manufacturing methods requiredto produce products in the most efficient and cost-effective way.·Specify, design and develop tooling as required to produceproducts as required per customer orders and other work.·Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting researchprograms; applying knowledge of product design, machining, fabrication,assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; solicitingobservations from operators.·Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements;researching, designing, modifying and manufacturing methods/equipment;conferring with equipment vendors. This includes the selection of machinery inconsultation with relevant stakeholders.·Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow,space requirements, and equipment layout.·Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods;testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards;confirming manufacturing processes.·Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculatingproduction, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules;estimating future requirements.·Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, andsummarizing information and trends. Including the development, management andcontrol of documents issued to customers to aid and or as per requirements bycustomers.·Maintains product and process data base by writing computer programs;entering data.·Completes design and development projects by training and guidingtechnicians.·Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educationalworkshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks;participating in professional societies.·SupportsContinuous improvement efforts through involvement in structured problemsolving and other activities using LEAN concepts.Qualifications and Experiencesrequired:·Degree/Advanced/HigherApprenticeship in Engineering or equivalent job experience.·Good understanding ofmanufacturing methods around machining, welding and assembly.·Good quality judgement and decision-makingcapability.·Team player with goodinterpersonal skills and ability to communicate confidently and persuasivelywith a wide variety of people.·Ability to collaborate and makepragmatic decisions that ensure compliance and quality while considering cost,schedule and risk.·Ability to read & interpretengineering drawings, standards and specifications.·Excellent organisational skillsand ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.·Expected travel globally is 15%yearly or as necessary to exceed plan & activities.·Proficient in Word, Excel,PowerPoint, Outlook and the Internet.·Proficient in SolidWorks orequivalent CAD software.·Previously worked within an OEMcompany. Desirable:·CAD/CAM Software(CAMWorks).·CNC programming bothon & offline capable.·Previously worked onmachinery.
